High School Projects
An overview of the various game projects I worked on in my free time when I was in high school.
Blue Blob Bob, 2008
Blue Blob Bob was a Game Maker project I developed with the help of a few friends in my second year of high school. The game is a side scrolling platformer in which the player character, a blue blob, is trying to escape from its mad scientist creator and its evil doppelganger created by the mad scientist to hunt you down. The final game had 100 levels (exactly 100, a somewhat arbitrary decision in hindsight) and 4 bosses (each with multiple moves and stages). We even had a t-shirt made.
I acted as project lead and production generalist in collaboration with, Alex Lapwood on programming, and Nat Potter on art and level design.
I was in charge of primary programming, primary art, level design, and sound. I programmed basic enemy AI, collectables, and level transitions. The most complicated work I did was implementing the boss battles, two of which had multiple stages that they would switch between as the player damaged them.

Blue Blob Bob 2, 2009
Work was started on a follow up to Blue Blob Bob later in 2008, also using Game Maker, and several prototypes experimenting with different mechanics and improvements to the original were made. None of these prototypes came to fruition, but I have included screenshots below. One of the prototypes included a full level editor.
In these incomplete follow up projects Alex Lapwood took over as lead programmer and I worked on game design, art, and level design.
